Several events that happened during the last year are so incredible and unbelievable that you would have taken them for April fool’s jokes, some of them funny and others very cruel and tragic, had you come across any of these, on April 1, 2007.

1. Musharraf quits the military, Bhutto is assasinated, and Pakistan elects a democratic government

2. India’s Hockey team does not qualify for the Olympics

3. Dawood Ibrahim gets caught (most media outlets believed this story at first, thought it later proved to be a false one)

4. Richard Gere kisses Shilpa Shetty in public and gets an arrest warrant

5. A Chinese young man (Meiyang Chang) rocks Indian Idol and an Indian young man (Sanjaya Malakar) rocks the American Idol

6. The remake of Sholay is a disaster! (Indiatime did predict this one right)

7. Mukesh Ambani becomes the world’s richest man (a numbers error put him on the top of the rich people list for a day)

8. Harry Potter sues Durga festival (I still can’t believe it)

9. Mumbai trains start levitating…

10. New Delhi’s deputy mayor is killed by a monkey
